What is a Resident Advisor (RA)?

A Resident Advisor (RA) is a student that has attended Cal Poly Pomona for at least one year or more. RAs receive extensive training on campus resources, emergency response, community development and social/emotional support to students living within the University Village.

Will RAs be living at the Village?

The University Village will staff at least ten Resident Advisors to provide support to residents, monitor safety on property and build community.

How do you contact an RA if you need assistance?

Resident Advisors are on call Monday through Thursday from 4:30 p.m. – 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Friday through Monday. Residents can reach the RA on call during these hours by contacting 909-762-8286.

Will there still be programs planned by the RAs?

Yes, programs will still be planned by the University Village for residents to learn and engage with peers and staff. For this coming year, our programming and engagement will be done in a hybrid model, both virtually and in-person (maintaining CDC health guidelines). We still want to build a sense of community and foster student success here at the University Village. All programs will be planned following campus, local and state guidelines.
