Consumption, possession, or storage of alcoholic beverages by any licensee under the age of 21 is prohibited. Alcohol must be consumed within the confines of the apartment with door closed.
Barbecues are provided on the grounds for the use of the licensees, their visitors, and guests. It is the responsibility of the licensee to practice due care in using the barbecues. After use, the barbecue facility is to be cleaned by the licensee. For health and safety reasons, no smokers, or other outdoor cooking appliances are allowed inside or outside of the housing facility. Personal BBQ’s are allowed, as long as they are charcoal.
Bicycles may only be stored in the outside racks located throughout the facility, in apartment storage closets, or in student rooms provided they do not block exits and roommates do not object. Students are advised they are responsible for any damage to the room or its furnishings caused by bicycle storage in the room.
Residents can help keep their apartments and neighbors safe from fire by following the license agreement. Each housing unit is equipped with a fire safety system (smoke detector and fire extinguisher and sprinklers in Phase III). Tampering with this equipment or outside fire hydrants is a misdemeanor violation in accordance with City of Pomona Ordinance #3286. Violators of the ordinance are subject to prosecution and other disciplinary action, including revocation of license agreement. (There will be a minimum charge for replacing any smoke detector, fire extinguisher or sprinkler lost or damaged by residents. Other service charges, such as recharging a fire extinguisher because of misuse, will be assessed accordingly.)
The following are provided in good condition by the University Village to each apartment: loveseats, coffee table, dining room table, chairs, stove and refrigerator. All rooms are furnished with beds, dressers, desks, chairs, and bookshelves. Each resident must furnish his/her own blankets, bed sheets, towels, toiletries, & kitchen supplies. All furniture must remain inside the apartment at all times (not in storage closets).
Per California Executive Order, smoking is not permitted inside any part of the housing facility, including individual apartments. Smoking outdoors should be done in consideration and respect of all bystanders. Smokers must be 25 ft. from any building and must dispose of cigarettes in appropriate trash receptacles.
Pets and Animals
Licensee shall not bring in, allow guests to bring in, nor keep any animals on any Foundation property. This includes, but is not limited to, cats, dogs, birds, rodents, snakes, or tarantulas. No fish tanks larger than 10 gallons are permitted without prior approval. Fish are the only pets allowed.
It is expected that residents and their guests will respect the rights of others by maintaining a reasonable limit of noise at all times. What’s loud? Loud is any level of noise that disturbs any other resident or when you can be heard outside your apartment. “Quiet Hours” are 10:00 p.m. – 8:00 a.m., Sunday through Friday; and 1:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday mornings. During these times, all noise shall be held to minimum.
